http://www.teamspeed.com/forums/997-996/26374-new-...

"...It is a C2S widebody, Powerkit, Fuchs style wheels, double bubble roof, ducktail spoiler, primer grey in colour, with a retro brown leather interior and it is to be called the Supersport. Only being made in very limited numbers and will cost £135,000 in the UK."

Would be great if they made a retro RWD wide body, though I will guess that this is just a rumour!

RUF charge upto £180k for a blinged up 911 so i dont see why £135k would scare people off.

I'd love something like this, I'd like to do a retro 993 next.

Bring it on, "Retro" buzz word of the year and just proves Porsche don't copy every other performance marque, be interesting to get a glimps if true?

Looks strange, that ducktail and roof looks photshoped and the "bling" side skirts look like a tech-art or similar tacked on rubbish.

RUF have already done the ducktail and even the classic brushed Alu Targa hoop on their electric 997 project cars.

Dont forget, 997 Speedster coming out soon as well..

Sounds like a load of BS to me.

I think if they did make one, they should keep as close a homage to the original as possible, retro similar but updated front spoiler, ducktail, fuch reps.

This is why I'm fairly certain they wouldn't do it.

Porsche positions itself as a supplier of contemporary, modern, technologically advanced cars. They don't really go in for retro.

I can imagine them doing a "special" but I don't think they'd try to make it look like an IB. Retro is a bit of a gimmick and as far as I recall Porsche doesn't do much gimmickry.

I think the grey rendering came from this test car....

Knowing how painstaking Porsche are about aerodynamics it is not feesible IMO that they wouldput a simple duck tail on like that, the duck tail was the very first rear aero aid they used and whilst it worked well enough then it surely can't be an option for a modern 190mph Porsche ?

BB Q 997 - is that because it's Pork? hehe

I was reading about the ducktail spoiler on the 2.7 RS last night. It reduced the amount of lift on the RS from around 350kg to only 90kg! I've never driven one so can only imagine how light the front end must have got at speed in the original 911. yikes

I like it! But not for that kind of money. I guess it would hold its value as a special edition, like a Speedster.

Speedster's weren't very well received when they were launched. What's the deal with them now, are they massively sought after then?
