Hi

I have established that the slave cylinder needs replacing, symptoms being low on power steering fluid together with overflowing fluid from the clutch resevoir in the front of the car. I also understand that its worth replacing the accumulator at the same time.

Does anyone have any idea how many hours labour im looking at to get it done at a decent indy ?

Also, having topped up the power steering fluid it feels ok to drive. Am i taking a risk in doing so ??

Thanks

J

Hello,

I think you will find 3 hours is a good time to sort that fault out.

Are you topping up the resevoir on the engine ?

Hi Mike

Yes, I'm keeping a closer eye on the steering fluid resevoir and keeping it topped up as necessary. I've read a bit about the fluid being both corrosive and flamable which is what i was a bit worried about if i still drive the car.

What do you think ?

pentosin does not like rubber either it distorts none pentosin type seals and rubber and the more you put in the back the more your going to get through the front.. would get the job done asap like mike says 3-4 hours at most whereas the dealer always wants to charge for engine removal ontop
